A SALUTE TO BLACK CULTURE
To celebrate Black History Month, PUMA is proud to partner with the Schomburg Research Center for Black Culture. The Schomburg Center works in preserving artifacts, history, and culture from across the diaspora and global Black community. Our partnership champions education, empowerment, and cultural enrichment within the Black community through scholarships, funding initiatives and more. Learn more about the Schomburg Center and PUMA’s efforts to highlight and celebrate the deeply rooted communities that inspire us.
PUMA’s first employee-led collective of Black creatives, We Are Legends have also designed a limited PUMA x Schomburg Center collection to kick off the multi-year collaboration with the Schomburg Center. The collection and campaign entitled “Deeply Rooted” pays homage to the Center’s nearly 100-year legacy as a research library devoted to the collection, preservation, and exploration of African diasporic history. The co-branded collection blends classic PUMA styles with art objects seen in the Schomburg Center’s expansive collection. Learn more about out PUMA’s Deeply Rooted campaign below:
OUR PURPOSE
Some say the world is changing too fast. We say it’s not changing fast enough. Injustice. Discrimination. Inequality. These issues are not slowing down. So neither will we. Over the years, PUMA has partnered with athletes and ambassadors who have raised their voices to support universal equality. Individuals like former Olympian Tommie Smith, who inspired all races, religions, and nations to join together around justice and acceptance for all. In 2018, we established #REFORM to honor the 50th anniversary of Tommie Smith’s Silent Gesture. To stand up against systemic racism, fight for LGBTQIA+ rights, and push for Gender Equality. To support leaders and organizations who inspire real change with real action.
